KENT FERRARI SUPPORTING BBC CHILDREN IN NEED
SEVENOAKS & COLCHESTER
As the appointed security specialist to Kent Ferrari I was excited to attend the Ferrari Owners club and the Stratstone Ferrari fundraiser for BBC Children in Need on 5th July 2026. Well, the day came and went this past Sunday with a huge turn out by the public who lined the streets of Colchester and surrounding neighbourhoods to witness the long Ferrari convoy as it passed by.
The day started out at 10:00am in Sevenoaks where approximately twenty Ferraris arrived to be met by both Pudsey bear and the Deputy Mayor of Sevenoaks, Lionel O’Hara. Lionel was both charming and helpful, joining in with the festivities and fully engaging with the public.
The plan was to drive around Sevenoaks in a small Ferrari convoy with Lionel in the leading Ferrari, a smart California driven by Peter Took. From Sevenoaks, the Ferrari convoy took off along the M25 through the Dartford Tunnel heading towards Chelmsford where they would meet the Essex Ferrari Owners Club. It’s an unusual sight to see a giant Pudsey Bear sitting in a bright Yellow Ferrari F430 traveling along a motorway!
From Chelmsford, the Ferrari convoy proceeded towards Colchester and then finally on to Stratstone’s Colchester Ferrari dealership. I was amazed to see the streets lined with hundreds of people considering this was an industrial estate.
Bruce from Dragonfly Vision Drone services also attended the entire day as Kent Ferraris appointed drone operator, as did David Marsh who is Kent Ferraris photographer and marketing man. Bruce setup his drone area in a secluded area of the Colchester Ferrari carpark and from there, he took many drone video and photographic images of the whole automotive event.
I was surprised by the huge public turnout at Colchester with Starstone Colchester Ferrari being overrun with the public attending the event, despite it being a Ferrari Owners only day.
